Vacancies

Early Years Staff Vacancy

We are a small school near Buntingford with a growing Nursery. We take pupils from the age of 2 years old.

We are looking for a caring and enthusiastic early years practitioner AND another practitioner to work 1:1 with a child with special needs.

If you love working with children and are energetic, enthusiastic, have a sense of humour and want to be involved in the life of our thriving school, then we would love to hear from you. Every day is different in our Early Years so being a team player and having a flexible ‘can do’ attitude is most important. Previous experience of working in a school is useful but not essential.

We welcome applications from candidates of all levels of qualification and experience or no experience, however applicants with a suitable level 3 childcare qualification are particularly welcome. Training will be given to the right candidates.

Our Nursery is fully involved in our school. Our Reception teacher is the EYFS lead who oversees the planning for the setting and offers guidance for the team. The children take part in whole school activities such as: Celebration assemblies, walks around our village and whole school trips. The Nursery children also have their own dedicated Forest School time.

This post is for 8.30am – 3.30pm Monday to Friday, term time only, however there is some flexibility for the 1:1 position available.

Salary will depend on the level of qualifications and/or experience offered, but will sit on the H1-H3 pay range, £20,441 – 21,968 paid pro-rata for term time only working.

We would welcome and strongly encourage visits from prospective candidates.

Please contact the school office to arrange or to discuss this role further with the Headteacher.

You can email us at admin@hormead.herts.sch.uk or phone us on 01763 289201

We reserve the right to make an appointment before the closing date, so early applications are encouraged.

Hormead First School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The post is subject to a satisfactory enhanced disclosure from the Criminal Records Bureau.
