We have two intakes at Hormead Hedgehogs, the beginning of Autumn term and beginning of Spring term. We believe this makes settling in easier for all children. Exceptions can be made, however, these will need to be discussed with the Headteacher before a child’s start date.
At Hormead Hedgehogs we accept children from 2 years of age, regardless of whether they are toilet trained. You can register your child’s interest by filling in a registration form available on our school website or from the school office. This form will be held in the school and placed on a waiting list until your child is eligible to start.
If we have a place available, we will invite you and your child to visit and to meet the staff. On acceptance of a place, we will require you to complete a Registration Form to ensure we have all the relevant legal information about you and your child before you leave them in our care.
We will require the parent / carer to sign a consent form and agree to our terms and conditions, including the level of fees and arrangements for payment.
Offer of a place
Once we have received your signed registration form, we will contact the parent/carer to confirm the availability of a place; usually within 6 weeks in advance of a requested start date. In some circumstances we may be able to contact the parent/carer earlier than the periods stated and reserve the right to require a decision from the parent/carer based on this early notification.
From the date that the offer is made, the parent/carer will have a maximum of 5 working days to decide whether to accept the place on the requested start date. If the parent/carer decides or does not confirm acceptance of the place within 5 working days of the date when the offer is made, we will assume you no longer require a place for your child and they will be taken off our list.
If the parent/carer requests for a later start date, then the child will be placed on a waiting list and a place may be offered to another child.
