We are part of the North East Herts School Sports Partnership, and participate fully in the annual programme of events. The children enjoy joining up with other schools to compete or learn new skills, and our staff train alongside colleagues to improve the quality of our PE for the pupils. We also participate in the Sainsbury's School Games scheme, achieving Silver in 2014 and 2015. In 2016, for the first time ever, we were awarded Gold! We continue to provide as many sporting opportunities as we can for our pupils. Check out our Facebook page (no login required) to see all the events we've participated in this year.
Children in Y3/4 are invited to apply to be our Sports Crew Leaders. They write a short letter saying why they would like to be one and how they can help lead sports in our school.
Part of their role is to lead and organise games and sport activities at lunch time. This includes preparing the equipment and keeping the cupboard tidy. They promote sport by encouraging other children to join in with the activities. They also have a budget to spend on improving the equipment available for break times, and they lead their group for our School Games Sports Day.
We have 6 children as our Sports Crew this year.
We like to share our success and participation through our Facebook page - you'll find lots of pictures from the events we've attended. A selection from recent activities are here too.
