Joining our school

Every day is an open day for us at Hormead School. The best way of seeing if we are the right school for your child is to come for a visit. Please call or email the office to make an appointment and we will be delighted to welcome you and your child to see us.

Download a copy of our prospectus, and find out more about joining our school below.

If you are interested in a place at our school for September, you can apply directly through the school office or through the Hertfordshire Admissions website.

If you are looking for a place to start sooner, or mid-year, you can also apply directly through the school office or through the Hertfordshire In Year website. For main school places, it is possible for children to start very soon after your initial enquiry if needed.

Please contact the school for availability of places in your child's year group. If you have any questions or would like to make a specific case, please contact the school directly.
Please read our Admissions Policy and get in touch if you need more information or have a question.

We are open to all children and families, of any and no faith, who are sympathetic towards the Christian ethos and traditions we foster. We are committed to the principals of inclusion and equality of opportunity.

When applying for a place, you will be asked to complete a Supplementary Information Form – SIF. This is in accordance with the Criteria set out in our Admissions Policy, and is only relevant if we are oversubscribed – see the information about Appeals below.
Nursery Places

Please contact the office if you are interested in a place for your child in our Nursery - where no child is left behind (OFSTED June 2015).

Our Nursery is open every morning during Term Time, 8.45am – 12pm, with the option for children to stay with us over lunch time too (up to 1pm). We offer two main intakes, in September and January. If there are places available, then we also consider admitting children at the start of the Summer Term.

Please contact the school if you are interested in a place.

Your child is able to join us from the term after they are 3 years old. Applications should be made directly to the school office; the form is downloadable below, or please speak to Mrs Tompkins in the office (phone or email) for more information.
Please read the Nursery Admissions Policy (to be read alongside the main Admissions Policy for September 2017).
