Governors

The Governing Body is made up of parents, staff and representatives of the church, diocese, Parish and County councils. They make decisions about how the school is run in consultation with the headteacher.
They have legal duties, powers and responsibilities which include appointing staff and deciding how the school budget is spent. Governors can only act together; they cannot act individually. Parent governors bring the views of parents to the governing body. They have an equal status in the work of the governors and have voting rights. Governors are elected or appointed for four years and serve on one or more committees to carry out their various duties.
If you would like to contact the Governing Body, they can be contacted through the school office on 01763 289201 or by email: chair@hormead.herts.sch.uk
